Despite competitor claims that they are the only electronic locker system with a remote kiosk for accessing lockers, this is not true. Our system has that ability, but we find it is not the best solution. We pride ourselves on providing the right solution based on your specific needs. We have yet to find a situation where running conduit to a remote kiosk makes sense. That option merely makes an appearance of being technological and sophisticated. It is more costly, disruptive and is without enhanced functionality.
Location of the kiosk is not important. Our experience is that there are more customers gathering (queuing) at check-in than check-out. Our system check-out time is rated at 7 seconds per person and check-in is rated at 16 seconds per person (for a credit card rental). This means with one kiosk: 10 people in line could check out in one minute and 4 lockers can be rented per minute.
Two kiosks would cut the time in half. This formula is really a function of the system's rental and check-out speed, as well as the ratio of kiosks to lockers.
Formula: [The number of people on line] x [speed of the transactions] / [number of kiosks] = [wait time]
